OUR CONFESSION OF FAITH
Same as Articles of Faith
1. The Authority Of Scripture - Baptist believe that the Bible is the Word of God in the highest and fullest sense, and is the sole authority in determining the faith and practice of God's people...(2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 12:47-48).
2. The Sovereignty of God - Baptists believe in one true and living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things...(John 4:24; Revelation 4:11).
3. The Deity of Jesus Christ - Baptists believe that Christ the Son is the promised Messiah of the Old Testament, Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary...(John 3:16; Philippians 2:6-7).
4. The Personality of the Holy Spirit - Baptist believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, not a mere influence, who has been sent from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment...(John 14:11--15:26).
5. The Depravity of Man - Baptists believe that man came into this world by direct creation of God and not by evolution and that he was created innocently, but that being tempted by Satan, he sinned, and thereafter all men have been born in sin...(Romans 5:19; Ephesians 2:1-3).
6. The Freeness of the Way of Salvation - Baptists believes that a way has been provided whereby men born in sin may be reconciled to God...(Ephesians 2:8).
7. The Evangelization of the World - Baptists believe that it is the first and greatest duty of Christ's people to give the whole gospel to the world, without regard to race or color or creed...(Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-48).
8. The Democracy and Independence of the Churches - Baptists believe that a New Testament Church is an organized body of baptized believers in Christ: equal in rank and privilege; administering its own affairs under the headship of Christ...(Matthew 23: 8-11).
9. The integrity of the Ordinances - Baptists believe there are only two church ordinances Baptism and the Lords' Supper...(Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34).
10. The progress of the Saints - Baptists believe that the Christian life begins with conversion...(1 John 2:19; Philippians 1:6).
11. Liberty of Conscience - Baptists believe that every human soul has an inalienable right to approach and worship God for himself, and of his own free will and choice, and without priestly meditation or proxy...(Romans 14:12).
12. The Lord's Day - Baptists believe that the Lord's Day (under the old Jewish law called the Sabbath) is a Christian institution appointed for conscientious observance, and should be devoted to the nurture, development, and training of the spiritual life...(Exodus 20:8; Hebrews 10:24-25)
13. The Destiny of Man - Baptists believe in the final resurrection of all men, both just and unjust...(Malachi 3:18; Proverbs 14:32).
14. The Supremacy of Loyalty - Baptist stand for vital and distinctive truths, too many of which other denominations do not adhere, and that we cannot compromise these truths without disloyalty to the Scriptures and our Lord...(Matthew 15:9; 1 John 2:20-21, 27).
